While inspecting an old woman’s luggage, an officer noticed something strange at the scanner and ordered her to open the suitcase. What they found inside shocked everyone. 😲😨
The grandmother looked tired but good-natured. At passport control, she quietly explained that she was flying to visit her grandchildren for the winter—they hadn’t seen each other in a while, she missed them, and decided to visit. After her documents were checked, she calmly rolled her old gray suitcase toward the security belt.
The security officer, a young man in uniform, watched the scanner screen closely. He yawned as he passed suitcase after suitcase until he saw a strange image on the monitor: something strange was inside one of them.
“Wait…” he muttered, peering closer. “What’s that there?”
He raised his head, and his gaze fell on the elderly woman in the headscarf who owned the strange suitcase.
“Ma’am, what are you carrying?”

“Nothing special,” she replied softly. “Just gifts for my grandchildren.”
“Ma’am,” the officer frowned, “I can see you’re lying. What’s inside?”
The woman looked down. Her hands began to visibly shake. She seemed afraid of something.
“There’s nothing in there… I told you so.”
“Then I’ll have to open the suitcase,” the officer said firmly.
“You have no right! I won’t tell you the combination,” she exclaimed.
But it was too late. The officer pulled out a pair of pliers, the lock clicked, the suitcase opened—and everyone around froze.
Inside the suitcase were… 😱😲 Continued in the first comment 👇👇
Inside were three live chickens. Nearby was a handful of grain and an old rag, which the grandmother had apparently used to cover them during the journey. One chicken clucked softly, another tried to escape.
“These are… live chickens,” the officer said, stunned.
“Yes,” the grandmother replied calmly. “I told you I was bringing gifts for my grandchildren.”
“Ma’am, you know it’s illegal to transport animals without paperwork!”
The grandmother sighed heavily.
“I just wanted my grandchildren to eat fresh soup. Everything there is expensive, but I raised these chickens myself; they are good, domesticated chickens…”
The officer didn’t know what to say. He looked at his colleague, who simply shrugged his shoulders. After a short meeting, the head of the department decided that the chickens should be handed over to the airport veterinary service and a report should be filed against the grandmother.
As the officers carefully removed the birds from the suitcase, the old woman cried.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean any harm…”
The officer replied softly.
“We understand, ma’am. But the rules are the same for everyone.”
The chickens were quarantined, and later a local farm agreed to take them in. Grandma was allowed to fly away, but without her “gift.”
Just before takeoff, she quietly said to the officer:
“Tell them so they don’t forget—these chickens are mine.”
The guy smiled for the first time that day and replied:
“I promise, ma’am. They’ll be in good hands.”
