LIFE STORIES

A stranger brought flowers every day to a sick grandmother who had only a month to live. One day, I decided to find out why and was shocked by his answer 😢😢

I’ve worked as a nurse in a hospital for 10 years and have seen a lot, but I will never forget this couple.

We had a 70-year-old grandmother. The doctors didn’t give her a chance—at most a month, or even less. But she persevered, always smiling, joking, giving us treats, and trying to support other patients.

The most surprising thing was that every day a man her age came to her with bouquets. Always different flowers: roses, daisies, tulips. At the sight of these flowers, the grandmother beamed like a girl, carefully accepted the bouquet, and thanked her happily.

I noticed that he never stayed long; he simply gave flowers, said a few sweet words, and left. At one point, I couldn’t stand it anymore and asked him:

“Tell me, why do you bring flowers every day? We know you’re not her husband.”

The man sighed deeply, his eyes glistening with tears:

“Yes, you’re right. I have a wife, I’m not her husband. But I have to do this.”

“Why?” I was surprised.

And he told me a story that gave me goosebumps. 😢😢 Continued 👇👇

A stranger brought flowers every day to a sick grandmother who had only a month to live: one day I decided to find out why he was doing this.

It turned out to be an old friend of her husband’s. The woman’s husband was in a different hospital, bedridden, and couldn’t even get up. But all his life, he had given his wife flowers—just like that, for no reason.

He knew how much she loved them and always said her smile was the most beautiful thing in the world.

Now that he could no longer do this himself, he asked his friend to carry out this mission for him. And he faithfully fulfilled the request, bringing the woman a new bouquet every day.

When I heard this story, my heart broke with pain and admiration. I told the head doctor everything, and soon we arranged for the woman’s husband to be transported to our hospital. They were placed in the same ward.

Since then, they were close again, holding hands and smiling at each other. The man no longer brought flowers every day—now her husband could see her smile with his own eyes.

Sadly, the grandmother passed away soon after. But her last days were filled with love, care, and loyalty, which are even stronger than illness and time.

This story will forever be etched in my memory as proof that true love exists.
