LIFE STORIES

Every day, the elderly man found a fresh loaf of bread, wrapped in cellophane, on his porch: he didn’t know where the bread had come from, and when he went to the police, he was shocked 😱😱

Every morning, at exactly the same time, the elderly man walked out onto the porch of his house, and there was the same strange gift waiting for him: a fresh loaf of bread, wrapped in cellophane. The package had a brightly colored label with the name of an unknown store. The name sounded strange, as if it came from another country, and the old man immediately sensed something was wrong.

The first time, he thought it might be the neighbors who were worried—someone had noticed his loneliness and decided to help with the food.

He was even slightly touched, but still didn’t eat the bread—something inside him told him that free gifts aren’t coincidences.

The next day, the story repeated itself: the same loaf, in the same packaging, in the same place. Then he thought that perhaps Social Services had started a new program to support retirees. But the strange thing was that none of the neighbors said anything about it, and he hadn’t received any news.

On the third day, the man’s nerves gave out. He was worried about everything: the same time and the unusual origin of the bread.

He tucked the loaf under his arm and walked to the nearest shop. He approached the saleswoman and asked:

“Are you bringing me some bread? Do you have a new promotion, perhaps?”

The woman looked at him as if he’d gone mad.

“What are you talking about, Grandpa? We don’t have any promotions or charities. We only sell bread; we don’t deliver it to people’s homes,” she snapped.

The old man left the shop even more confused. And the more he thought about it, the more anxious he felt. He didn’t even dare touch the bread—what if something was mixed with it? What if someone wanted to poison him?

On the fourth morning, he decided to do something different. He retrieved an old video camera from the pantry, the one he’d once used for family gatherings, and set it up to film the porch.

And so, when he watched the recording that morning, his heart nearly stopped. It was clear on the screen: at four in the morning, a small drone flew silently toward his house, hovered above the porch, carefully lowered a bag of bread, and immediately flew away again.

The elderly man held his breath. Everything became even more terrifying: this was absolutely not a neighbor or social services. This was something else entirely.

With trembling hands, he gathered his things and went to the police station. And then he learned something terrible 😱😱 Continued in the first comment 👇👇

There, after showing the recording, he could barely explain what was happening. The officers exchanged glances, and one of them chuckled softly:

— Yes, my dear sir, you have embarked on an experiment.

It turns out a new startup decided to test an unusual bread delivery system. His address accidentally ended up in their customer database.

And all because a pensioner, trying to check the weather forecast on his phone a few days ago, accidentally clicked on an ad and signed up for a monthly bread delivery subscription.

He couldn’t figure out how it happened—it seemed like he’d simply “pointed the wrong way.” But in reality, he’d signed up for a trial subscription.

When the old man heard the explanation, he either sighed with relief or flew into a rage. They refunded his money and canceled his subscription, but the uneasy feeling remained.

And he never dared to try the bread lying around at home—it looked too ominous.
