At a family celebration, I accidentally noticed my mother-in-law slip something into my glass of juice. Suspecting something was wrong, I discreetly swapped glasses with my husband, and just ten minutes later, something happened that made everyone really sick 😲😱
Everything seemed normal at the family dinner. The table was set, the main course was hot, people were chatting about nothing, the usual noise of the kitchen. My mother-in-law was bustling around, pouring juice into glasses, commenting on something, smiling. I was sitting next to my husband and at some point, I accidentally glanced at my mother-in-law.
She leaned closer to me, as if adjusting a napkin, and very quickly poured something into my glass of juice. The movement was almost imperceptible, but I saw it clearly, although no one else noticed. I knew for sure – she slipped something into my glass.
My heart sank unpleasantly. Too many thoughts flashed through my head at once, but I didn’t want to start a scene at the table. I knew my mother-in-law would deny everything, and I’d be the one who would be the one to blame in front of everyone.

No one noticed anything; the conversations continued, the plates clanged, everyone was preoccupied with themselves.
I waited until everyone’s attention shifted to the food and quietly switched glasses—mine and my husband’s. He sat next to me, unsuspecting, and calmly took a sip. I tried to act normal, although inside, everything was incredibly tense.
Only a few minutes passed. Everyone was genuinely ill at what they saw, and my mother-in-law turned completely pale 😢😲 The rest of the story can be found in the first comment 👇👇
Literally five minutes passed. My husband first turned pale, then suddenly clutched his stomach and stood up from the table. He started to feel nauseous, dizzy, and could barely stand.
At that moment, his mother-in-law’s expression also changed and she stared at him as if she couldn’t believe her eyes.
When my husband went to the bathroom, I silently walked over to her bag, which was sitting on a chair. Inside was an opened packet of a strong laxative powder. The kind that’s not usually used for drinks and certainly not at the family table.
Everyone understood without a word. Dinner was over in an instant. My husband later had to call an ambulance, while my mother-in-law sat in the kitchen, repeating that she “just wanted to scare me” and “didn’t think it would happen like this.”
She just wanted me to feel sick at the table and be made a laughingstock of in front of all the relatives. After that evening, I never took food or drinks from her again. And we never sat at the same table again.
