“Get out of here! This is an elite car dealership for respectable people,” the administrator said to the old man in dirty clothes and boots; but just a few minutes later he turned pale because of what happened 😨😢

The loud squeaking of wet fishing boots echoed across the smooth light porcelain tile floor in the large hall of the “Avangard-Motors” car dealership. In the spacious room with cold neon lighting, the sound seemed strange and sharp. Usually a calm atmosphere reigned here: new SUVs shone brightly, and visitors quietly spoke with the sales managers.
An elderly man slowly approached the reception desk. His old green storm jacket was soaked from the rain, and water was dripping from it. A worn canvas spinning-rod case hung over his shoulder, and his heavy rubber boots were covered with dried mud. After the long journey he breathed a little heavily and calmly looked at the expensive cars around him, as if he had entered an ordinary shop.
Behind the desk stood a customer service manager named Sofia. She looked at the stranger with dissatisfaction and did not even try to hide her irritation.
— It looks like you came through the wrong door. The bus stop is across the road, — she said coldly. — Cars are sold here.
The old man removed his wet cap, ran his hand through his thin gray hair, and stepped closer.
— I know where I am. I want to take a look at that black all-wheel-drive SUV, — he said calmly, pointing to the vehicle standing on the central platform.
Sofia smirked and exchanged a glance with the security guard.
— Do you even know how much that car costs? Vehicles like this are shown only by appointment and after payment confirmation. Besides, you have already dirtied the floor.
The old man only shrugged slightly.
— Show me the interior and start the engine. If I like the car, we will talk about the price.
At that moment the dealership administrator — a young man named Mark — quickly approached them. He was wearing an expensive dark-blue suit and looked irritated.
— What is going on here? — he asked sharply.
Sofia pointed at the old man.
— This man is demanding to see the SUV.
Mark looked at the dirty boots, the old jacket, and the canvas case on his shoulder.
— Security, escort him outside, — he ordered.
The old man remained standing in place and only gripped the strap of his case tighter. The guard hesitantly took a step forward but clearly did not want to use force against an elderly man.
Mark no longer hid his irritation.
— Leave this place. This is a showroom for serious clients. Your place is somewhere near garages with old cars.
Several visitors turned toward the noise. None of them could imagine what would happen in a few minutes. 😨😱

The old man calmly slipped his hand into the pocket of his jacket and took out his phone.
“Hello, Michael. I came to your car dealership, just as you said. But your employees don’t even want to show me the car. Yes, I understand. Of course, I’ll pass you the phone.”
He handed the phone to Mark.
The administrator took the phone irritably, but after a few seconds the expression on his face changed sharply. He turned pale, then red, and began nodding quickly, although the person on the other end could not see him.
“Yes, of course… right away… my apologies… it will not happen again… yes, I will fix everything…” he said hurriedly.
Mark carefully returned the phone to the old man and turned sharply to the employees.
“Get out of here! This is an elite car dealership for respectable clients,” the administrator had said to the old man in dirty clothes and boots; but only a few minutes later he turned pale because of what happened.
“Prepare the car for presentation immediately. And invite a technical specialist.”
A few minutes later the same black SUV was already standing with its doors open. Managers bustled around the old man, talking about the engine, suspension, and all-wheel-drive system.
Half an hour later he calmly signed the documents. But he did not buy just one car. He bought three SUVs at once.
When the employees exchanged surprised glances, the old man simply smiled calmly.
“One for me. Two for security. We often go fishing far from the city.”
Only after that did the employees of the dealership learn that the man standing before them was the owner of a large international company — a man with enormous wealth who simply prefers to live quietly and spend his free time by the river with a fishing rod.

And on that day many people in the showroom understood a simple truth for the first time: a person’s appearance says nothing about who they really are.
