A young worker pushed an elderly colleague into a muddy pit and laughed at him, but he would soon bitterly regret it when three expensive black foreign cars stopped near the construction site 😱😲
The morning at the construction site of the new residential complex was cold and damp. It had rained during the night, and the ground had turned into sticky mud. Along the road stretched a deep trench filled with murky water. Workers moved lazily between concrete blocks and steel reinforcement bars.
Among them was a new worker — an elderly man in an old jacket and rubber boots. He had appeared at the construction site only a few days earlier. Almost no one talked to him. The old man quietly observed the work, sometimes writing something in a small notebook and carefully examining the foundation.
At one moment he approached a young worker who was fastening a metal structure near the trench.
— You are doing this incorrectly, the old man said calmly.
The young man did not even realize at first that he was being addressed.
— What? he replied irritably.
The old man pointed at the fastenings.
— If there is even a slight vibration here, this part may not withstand the load. And besides… you are not following the safety regulations.
The young worker straightened up abruptly. A mocking smile appeared on his face.
— And who exactly are you to teach me? he said loudly so that the others could hear.
Several workers nearby stopped working and looked in their direction with interest.
— I am only explaining how it should be done properly, the old man answered calmly.
The young man burst into loud laughter.
— Look at him! The old man decided to become the chief engineer.
Someone snorted, and others also began to laugh.
The young worker stepped closer and mockingly looked at the old man’s trembling hands.
— Have you looked at yourself in the mirror? Your hands are shaking. Can you even hold a shovel?
The workers behind him laughed again.
The old man sighed heavily but did not leave.
— You have no right to speak to me like that, he said quietly.
These words were like pouring fuel on the fire.
The young worker’s face suddenly changed. He stepped forward, grabbed the old man by the collar of his dirty jacket and pulled him roughly toward himself.
— You’re going to teach me?
And before anyone could say a word, he pushed him hard.
The elderly man lost his balance and rolled into the muddy pit. His boots slipped on the wet ground, and a second later he was lying in the cold murky water.
The old man tried to get up. His face was covered with mud, and surprise and pain could be seen in his eyes.
But the young worker stood above him laughing loudly.
— So much for your safety rules!
Some workers laughed as well, although a few looked away in embarrassment.
The old man slowly sat down in the mud, breathing heavily. He looked up at the young man. There was neither anger nor shouting in his eyes.
But the young worker would soon bitterly regret his action when three expensive black cars stopped near the construction site 😨😱
And at that moment, the sound of brakes screeched near the construction site. Everyone turned around.
Three expensive black foreign cars arrived at the construction site gate, one after another. The cars stopped right at the entrance. Two men in strict suits got out of the first car. They quickly looked around and walked straight toward the trench.
The young worker frowned.
— What the… — he began.
But he didn’t get to finish.
One of the men stopped at the edge of the pit and looked down in surprise.
— Boss… are you okay?
The workers exchanged glances.
The man in the suit bent down and helped the elderly man out of the mud.
— Sorry we’re late, — he said quietly.
The old man wiped his face with his sleeve, looked at the young workers, and calmly said:
— It’s nothing. I just saw everything I wanted to see.
The young worker’s face went pale instantly.
— Wait… — he muttered.
But it was already too late. The man in the suit turned to the workers:
— Meet the owner of the company and this entire residential complex.
A heavy silence fell over the site.
The owner slowly looked at each of them.
— In recent months, I’ve received dozens of complaints. They said workers were lazy, ignoring safety rules, and making dangerous mistakes. That’s why I decided to come here as a regular worker.
He shifted his gaze to the young man.
— And it seems I did not come in vain.
The young worker grew even paler.
The owner turned to the man in the suit:
— Prepare the documents. These people no longer work here.
A few minutes later, no one was laughing at the construction site anymore.
