A millionaire pretended to faint in his office to test his new secretary, but when he heard her quietly whispering on the phone, he was completely shocked by what he heard 😱😨
At the age of forty, Alex Orlov had long been a millionaire, but along with the money he had developed another habit — trusting no one. Over the years in business, dozens of people had tried to deceive him. Partners disappeared with money, employees leaked information to competitors, and some even tried to extort money from him. Over time, he became a tough man. He fired people at the slightest suspicion and always said the same thing: people remain kind only until large sums of money appear on the table.
A few weeks ago, a new secretary appeared in his office. Her name was Emma. She was young, calm, and remarkably composed. She never arrived late, always completed her work on time, handled documents carefully, and almost never asked unnecessary questions. Many employees were glad that such a reliable person had finally appeared in the office.
But that was exactly what made Alex suspicious. Over the years, he had grown used to one simple rule: perfect people do not exist. If someone seems too proper, it means they are hiding something.
At first, Alex simply observed Emma. Sometimes he would unexpectedly enter the reception area, sometimes he would stay late at the office, and sometimes he would ask her questions that could confuse an ordinary person. But the girl always answered calmly and continued working.
Then he came up with an idea.
One evening, when most employees had already left, Alex decided to arrange a small test. He deliberately scattered folders with documents around his office, spoke loudly on the phone pretending to have a very angry conversation with a partner, and then suddenly fell silent. After a few seconds, he leaned heavily back in his chair, lowered his head, and closed his eyes, pretending to have fainted.
A few minutes passed. The door quietly opened, and Emma looked inside. She immediately noticed that her boss was sitting motionless. The girl quickly approached him and gently touched his shoulder.
— Sir… can you hear me?
There was no answer. She carefully shook his hand, then leaned closer and checked his pulse on his neck. Real concern appeared on her face. She called him again, but the man remained motionless.
Alex lay with his eyes closed and listened carefully. He expected anything. Perhaps the girl would start searching for something valuable in the documents, maybe she would call someone, or simply get scared and run away. He even considered that she might try to take advantage of the situation.
But Emma did something else.
She carefully picked up the scattered folders from the floor, arranged the documents, and placed them on the desk. Then she quietly left the office, closing the door behind her.
A few seconds later, Alex heard her talking on the phone in the corridor. Her voice was very quiet, almost a whisper. When he realized whom she was calling and what she was saying, the millionaire was shocked.
He expected anything — but what the secretary did was impossible 😱😨
— Hello, little one… — she said softly. — I know today was a tough day, but you did very well. You’re a real hero. Sorry I’ll be a little late today. I love you very much. My boss just felt unwell, I’ll probably have to take him to the hospital.
Alex felt everything inside him turn upside down. He expected anything, but not this.
A few seconds later, he opened his eyes and pretended to have just regained consciousness. Emma immediately returned to the office, checked his pulse again, and offered to call an ambulance.
Later, Alex decided he wanted to learn more about her. He instructed the security service to carefully check the young woman. After a few days, he received a short report.
It turned out that Emma had neither wealthy relatives nor patrons. A few years ago her parents died in a car accident. In the same accident, her younger brother survived; he was only fifteen at the time. After the injury, the boy could no longer walk.
Emma became his sole guardian.
She worked almost without days off, saved every penny, and put aside money for the operation. Doctors said that an expensive surgery could restore the boy’s ability to walk.
A few days later, he called Emma to his office. He increased her salary, and a month later paid for her brother’s surgery.
